A review of late-stage tungsten fuzz growth

چکیده
Abstract Tungsten will be used as the plasma-facing divertor material in International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor (ITER) fusion reactor. Under high temperatures and ion fluxes, a ‘fuzz’ nanostructure forms on tungsten surface with dramatically different properties could contaminate plasma. Although simulations experimental observations have provided understanding of initial fuzz formation process, there is debate over whether or helium migration rate-limiting during late-stage growth, mechanisms by which migrations occur. Here, proposed are considered turn. It concluded that occurs adatom diffusion along surface. Continual through porous to bulk also required for continued bubble growth rupture. Helium likely migrates due ballistic penetration, although may contribute. difficult determine limiting switch from penetration above threshold flux. Areas further research clarify then considered. A greater mechanism key successful design components, applications forming catalysts.

Nanostructured fuzz growth on tungsten under low-energy and high-flux He irradiation
We report the formation of wave-like structures and nanostructured fuzzes in the polycrystalline tungsten (W) irradiated with high-flux and low-energy helium (He) ions. From conductive atomic force microscope measurements, we have simultaneously obtained the surface topography and current emission images of the irradiated W materials. Our measurements show that He-enriched and nanostructured st...

Seed growth of tungsten diselenide nanotubes from tungsten oxides.
We report growth of tungsten diselenide (WSe2) nanotubes by chemical vapor deposition with a two-zone furnace. WO3 nanowires were first grown by annealing tungsten thin films under argon ambient. WSe2 nanotubes were then grown at the tips of WO3 nanowires through selenization via two steps: (i) formation of tubular WSe2 structures on the outside of WO3 nanowires, resulting in core (WO3)-shell (...
متن کاملCalcimimetic inhibits late-stage cyst growth in ADPKD.
In polycystic kidney disease (PKD), genetic mutations in polycystin 1 and 2 lead to defective intracellular trafficking of calcium, thereby decreasing intracellular calcium and altering cAMP signaling to favor proliferation. We hypothesized that calcimimetics, allosteric modulators of the calcium-sensing receptor, would reduce cyst growth by increasing intracellular calcium. We randomly assigne...
